The last of the three sections of the sea defences which link Fairhaven to Lytham have now been officially opened. This concludes the two and a half year long £21.8 million pound project mainly funded by the Environment Agency, replacing the failing sea defence wall constructed in the 1890s. The excellent colour photographs are from the Granny’s Bay facebook page and were taken by Hughie Parr. The atmospheric black and white photograph is also from the Granny’s Bay facebook page, and this was taken by Andy Green.
