Greene King to sell 6p pints today (Monday 30th May) – here’s how to get one!

Pub Chain Greene King, who have a choice of venues in Lytham St. Anne’s, are offering customers the chance to buy a pint for just 6p to celebrate to Queen’s Jubilee – but you’ll have to be quick. The bargain booze is for just one day – and it’s today (Monday 30th May).

Drinkers can get a pint of Greene King IPA at one of the group’s 408 Local Pubs or Flaming Grill sites for the same price (6p) it cost in 1952, when the Queen first took the throne. But to get the deal, you’ll have to know the secret code.

Simply say “1952” when you order your pint at the bar to take advantage of the deal. The code word is the year of Queen Elizabeth II’s royal coronation.

Andrew Gallagher of Greene King Local Pubs said: ‘We wanted to take our customers back to where it all began in 1952 – a time when Vera Lynn ruled the charts and pints were only 6p. Some of our regulars may even remember watching the coronation back in 1952, although they may have been too young to enjoy a pint then.’
