Horrified Blackpool Audience Evacuated As Performer Falls From ‘Wheel Of Faith’

The Blackpool Tower Circus Audience were horrified last night (Saturday 27th April) when a performer fell from an attraction named the ‘Wheel of Faith’ –  sometimes known as the ‘Wheel of Death’. Members of the audience were evacuated following the accident.

Guests, who were enjoying the show before the shocking accident took place, have been provided with complimentary tickets for a future performance as ‘a token of appreciation for their understanding and cooperation during this unexpected interruption’.

One parent wrote on X (previously Twitter), ‘In Blackpool Tower with the kids watching the circus when the bloke who was at the top of the wheel of death fell to the ground. Immediately all the audience were escorted out. I hope he is ok.’

A spokesperson for  Blackpool Tower said, ‘Our medical team responded quickly with our well-established emergency procedures and supported the performer until the emergency services arrived. We are pleased to confirm the performer is recovering well and being treated for a minor injury to his wrist.’

A review of the Wheel of Faith act is taking place as standard safety procedures while performances at Blackpool Tower Circus are set to open as usual today.

The spokesperson for the venue added: “We’d like to thank North West Ambulance for their quick response and support.”
