How To Receive Your £150 Fylde Council Tax Energy Rebate

The Government has recently announced a package of measures to help with the rise in household energy bills. If your property is in council tax bands A, B, C or D, you are eligible for a £150 rebate.

Fylde Council have said that the quickest way to receive your rebate is to sign up to direct debit payments so this can be paid straight into your bank account in April 2022.

For those who don’t currently pay by direct debit but who are eligible for the rebate, the Council are working on an alternative way to make these payments, however this may take longer and details will be announced shortly.

You can sign up to direct debit payments on the Council’s website www.fylde.gov.uk/counciltax, and you will need to have done this by Friday 25 March 2022 in order to receive your rebate in April 2022.

Councillor Karen Buckley, Leader of Fylde Council said: ‘This rebate is welcomed in anticipation of the increasing energy costs. Paying your council tax by direct debit is easy, safe and secure and also the fastest way to receive the rebate directly into your bank account.

I would encourage anyone who hasn’t already done so to sign up to direct debit payments as soon as possible via the Council’s website to avoid any delays in the rebate payment being made.’

The annual council tax bills for Fylde are due to be sent out in the coming weeks. The Council say that you may receive your bill with the original payment method stated, but please be assured once their teams have actioned the change to direct debit payments you will be notified. However, the Council cannot guarantee that your rebate payment will be received prior to your first council tax instalment being due.

A discretionary scheme is also being developed for residents not in bands A to D and further details will be provided once they are available.

The Government says that 20 million households are to benefit from this £3 billion government scheme to help with rising energy costs.

  1. I’m eligible but didn’t set up a direct debit in time, I never received information to do this in time. It’s all well and good shoving it on the website but it should be sent to customers in a letter. I only received the bill. I’m entitled to that £150 and now I have to call to get you guys to pay up which is ridiculous and stressful with my health issues.

  2. This isn’t the Council website, so if there are questions, concerns or complaints you’ll need to go to there for an answer.

  3. Have they been sent out yet. I pay by direct debit bit haven’t received mine yet

  4. I have had a direct debit for payment of council tax for many years. I would like to know when I will receive my £150. Thank you
