Huge Success as Lytham BOOMS with Christmas Shoppers Galore!

Shopkeepers and local businesses today (Saturday 05/12/2020) rejoiced as the town centre was bustling from morning time to the evening with Christmas shoppers galore.

Many restaurants such as BOSCO, Zest and Spago opened for takeaway service and mulled wine, while coffee shops such as Central Beach, the Coffee Bean and many others did the same.

The Deacon in Lytham Square setup a hut selling hot food and drinks and the queues were there all day.

Katie Henshaw from Accrington told Lytham St Annes News “I came down with my family and friends to do Christmas Shopping in our favourite town of Lytham.  We bought many items from our favourite shops such as Stringers, Nigel Holmes, Fascination Perfume, Notch and Millie & Mini.  We then got Mulled Wine from The Deacon and although we had to wait a while as the queues were massive – it was worth the wait. We sat down and eat in the Square, it was magical”.

Jamie Wilson who travelled down from Westhoughton said “my wife loves it here – we usually come for the Christmas light switch on and always visit during the summer – the shopping experience is second to none and Lytham has a true village feel.  Y9u can just see by the crowds how popular the place is! ”

This is all good news for local businesses who have struggled while being closed during the crippling second coronavirus lockdown having only been allowed to open from Wednesday onwards.

However, one local shopkeeper who didn’t want to be named said “Although we have been busy today – the late night shopping is pointless while we remain in Tier 3 – we need our restaurants and bars open as soon as possible”.
