Injured Blackpool Toddler Dies In Hospital – Man From Central Drive Arrested

Blackpool Police say that their investigation is continuing after a two-year-old boy found with injuries at an address in Blackpool at the weekend died in hospital.

Police were called by the ambulance service at shortly after 11 a.m. on Saturday 19th August to a report that a two-year-old boy had been found unresponsive at an address on Central Drive in the resort.

Officers attended and the child was taken to hospital, but very sadly died from the injuries on Monday (August 21). Police say their thoughts are with his loved ones at this time.

A man in his 30s was arrested at the address. Daniel Hardcastle (10/3/93), of Central Drive, appeared before Blackpool Magistrates’ Court on Monday 21st August charged with Section 18 wounding and was remanded into custody.

Police say that following the toddler’s death, they will continue their enquiries and will liaise with the Crown Prosecution Service in relation to any further charges.
