Instead Of Wedding Presents, Gift Donations Meant A Big Cheque To Lytham RNLI

Sarah Jane and Al decided to get married if they got through lockdown.

And Sarah Jane now takes up a very special story.

‘Not only did we get through it (even though Al was diagnosed with a rare tumour and had to have part of his hand amputated) We loved each other, took care of each other and laughed so much.

Al is a kite surfer and during lock down he rang me from Lytham and asked me if I would like to live here (we lived in Bolton).

When we moved here we set a date for the 18th August 2023 and Al asked me if I minded that instead of wedding gifts we ask for gift donations to Lytham RLNI instead.

I couldn’t live him more- he’s the kindest most generous and thoughtful person in the world

I set a just giving page at £1000 and had to keep increasing it as the donations in place of gifts kept coming in! We currently have £3,480

The RLNI crew came to the evening and we presented them with a cheque with our nine year old nephew George Dyson (pictured below).

My niece passed away when she was 27 so I tied my bouquet to her Memorial Bench.’
