Is the Lytham St Annes Christmas Bubble About to Burst?

Michael Gove is set to meet with the leaders of the four devolved nations to review the Christmas bubble arrangements.

Under the current rules, Lytham St Anne’s households can freely move and mix with another two households between the 23rd December to 27th December, despite being in a tier three zone.

However, for only the second time in 100 years, the British Medical Journal and Health Service Journal have joined forces, calling for the government to scrap this ‘Christmas bubble’ scheme.

They stated: ‘We believe the government is about to blunder into another major error that will cost many lives. If our political leaders fail to take swift and decisive action, they can no longer claim to be ‘protecting the NHS’.’
