Liam Brown of Rossett Avenue, Blackpool has pleaded guilty to perverting the course of justice and disqualified driving after he deliberately rode a 600cc motorcycle at high speed past speed cameras in the resort.
Police have described the incident with this story…….
‘You might think that’s a bit daft (and you’d be right), but not our Liam! Our Liam had a plan!💡
He put false number plates on his bike in a bid to avoid prosecution and confuse the Old Bill. Unfortunately this proved less a cloak of invisibility and more like a great, big, red flag.🚩🚩🚩 But that’s ok, because Liam was flying under the radar, wasn’t he? He hadn’t splashed pictures of the bike and dodgy number plates all over social media, had he? Oops. He had! Now that was daft!
To cut a long story short-ish, officers from The Safer Roads Unit visited Liam at his place of work, where they arrested Liam, recovered the bike and false number plates, together with the distinctive helmet he was sporting in all the speed camera photos. Still thinking he was on to a winner Liam turned to his arresting officer and said “I only bought that bike last night”. Oh, how we all laughed. Not Liam, he didn’t laugh.
You would imagine that Liam had learned a lesson at this point, wouldn’t you, dear reader? He wouldn’t do it again, would he? He did. Using a new set of false plates on two different motorcycles he once again set off the speed camera on Central Drive at Blackpool three times.
Like Liam, we had a plan. Unlike Liam’s, ours worked. The Judge ordered us to crush Liam’s bike.
If you know of anybody, like Liam, driving whilst disqualified, please feel free to report the matter to us. You can call 101 or crimestoppers anonymously. But most importantly, don’t be like Liam. Help us keep our roads safe for all of us.’
