Lancashire Police Intensify Their Drink/Drug Driving Crackdown From Today

Lancashire Police have today (1st December) announced that they are commencing their crackdown on drink and drug driving to make sure everyone makes it home safely for the festive season.

ACC Pete Lawson & DPCC Andy Pratt from Lancashire Police shared this message, ‘Whilst we’re always looking out for those who decide to get behind the wheel whilst intoxicated, we’ll be intensifying our activity between now and the New Year to stop anyone who chooses to put lives in danger. Last year, between November and the New Year, officers:

🚗  Stopped more than 3000 drivers at checkpoints

🚙  Found 343 unfit to be behind the wheel due to either drink or drugs

It might be the season to be jolly, but it’s never a reason to make potentially lethal decisions.’
