The COVID-19 worry continues as local energy consultants based in Kirkham, have allegedly sent their entire trading floor home whilst a member of staff awaits test results having shown many symptoms of the corona-virus.

The consultants employ hundreds of locals, many of whom are Lytham St Annes residents and, when called for comment, strongly denied that anybody had been advised to work from home but would not comment whether the staff member had, as yet, received their results.

Further to our article we have been contacted by Josh Royston from the company that manage the PR for Inspired Energy plc and they have made the following statement:

“Inspired Energy plc is closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation and is following all official government guidance and advice. We have issued such guidance and advice to all staff.

On Wednesday 11th March 2020, we can confirm a member of staff contacted 111 and has been referred by Public Health England for COVID-19 testing. As a precaution, we have instructed a small percentage of our staff who were in close proximity to the referred member of staff to work from home for a minimum of 24 hours. All staff are able to work from home so there will no disruption to operational services.

We will continue to adapt our approach as needed as the situation evolves and additional government guidance is issued.

To date no employee of Inspired Energy plc has tested positive or any person in close proximity to an employee of Inspired Energy plc. “
