While many industries have struggled from the impact of Covid-19, one local family run start-up business is relieved to discover that the lockdown and subsequent changes to people’s social habits has resulted in an uplift in enquiries.
ACM Cleaning Services, a St Annes based business who specialise in carpet cleaning, only launched shortly before the virus came into circulation, and having invested heavily in a new van and top of the range commercial carpet cleaning equipment, it started to look like they were finished before they had even started as the Government prohibited access into other people’s homes. As a new business, they did not qualify for any of the Government income schemes making their future look uncertain.
But in an unexpected turn of events, the end result of people spending a great deal more time at home was a lot of dirty carpets!
Speaking to Lytham St Annes News, Anthony, who owns the business with his Mum and brother told us, “We’ve had a lot of calls from people telling us that their carpets are filthy from children who have been off school, coming in and out of the house.
And even though the pubs and restaurants are now open, many want to err on the side of caution and have BBQ’s and family around at their house rather than going out, so they want their carpets professionally cleaning before their guests arrive!”
