Local MP, Mark Menzies is due to have a phone call with Prime Minister Boris Johnson at 10.30am today, to talk about the Fylde Coast Tier position.

It has become clear that Fylde Coast has had a dramatic rise in cases over recent weeks, with the hospitals at covid capacity. Following the announcement that Lancashire would be placed into Tier 2, we were all relieved and somewhat surprised at our luck.

However it has been announced that Mark Menzies will have to fight our corner today as Boris Johnson intends to place us in Tier 3 following our statistics.

This will be closure of bars and pubs, gyms and leisure centres. Quite literally back to square one.

It has also been announced today at 10am that London has moved to Tier 2 lockdown, making a Tier 3 a very real looking future for Fylde Coast.

Many locals have commented on the situation on various Facebook posts, hospital workers stating they are hopeful for Tier 3 after seeing the state of the hospital, and other locals hoping that Menzies will fight for us.
