Lytham Club Day and Rose Queen Festival – Saturday 22 June 2024

The 2024 Lytham Club Day and Rose Queen Festival takes place this coming Saturday 22nd June.  This year’s  event will celebrate a very special 130 year anniversary. Rose Queen Annie Johnson was the first Rose Queen in 1894, representing St. Cuthbert’s Church. Layla Fitton will be crowned Lytham Rose Queen in 2024.

On Saturday, between 8:30a.m. and 12:30p.m. (approx.), many streets will be closed so that children and adults can parade in fancy dress (see map and details below). During Saturday morning, Lytham will once again come alive with the hustle and bustle of tableaux, decorated cycles, horses, local traders and bands. One of the traditional highlights is the Lytham Rose Queen and her retinue, plus visiting Queens from the Fylde.

The main procession at 10,00 a.m. will be led by vintage cars, followed by the Rose Queen. She will lay a wreath in remembrance of the dead from the two World Wars at the Cenotaph. They, and the whole parade, will be cheered on by all the spectators who will hopefully line the streets to watch the bands and floats.

From lunchtime/1pm the fair opens and the afternoons entertainment gets underway at Lytham Hall with the crowning of the Rose Queen and the official festivities and entertainment into the evening.

At 3.00 p.m. on Sunday 23rd June there will be a special Lytham Club  ‘Songs Of Praise’ in a marquee at Lytham Hall (see poster below).
