Blackpool’s RNLI volunteers were called out at 7:20 p.m. on Thursday evening (29th June) to reports of a male clinging onto one of the pier stanchions at North Pier.
Blackpool’s Inshore Lifeboats were launched and headed to the location and located the casualty, who was extremely tired. Assistance was provided by HM Coastguard Lytham and HM Coastguard Fleetwood, as well as Blackpool Police.
The lifeboat recovered the male and brought him back to safety of the boathouse. He was then handed over to North West Ambulance Service.
