The local story centred upon the Nissan Micra  parked last weekend in a Lytham street by mistake, despite neighbours planning an outdoor Coronation celebration, went viral across the national press during the week. The story has now also been heavily featured in the USA.

With illustrative photographs of the car, the article in the Daily Mirror attracted a massive 200 comments!

It was also heavily featured in both the Daily Express and Mail On Line:

But now the story has hit the USA and has been featured across several media front including the US Times Post who wrote: ‘Celebrations in honor of King Charles III. swept across the UK during bank holiday weekend – but the celebrations took a turn on this particular street.’

As well as running the story, press outlets contacted Fylde Council for their take on the issue. A spokesperson for Fylde Council said: ‘The protocol for requesting the closure of a road for a coronation street party was correctly followed by the residents. As part of the closure, the lead person for the organisation of the street closure is asked to inform all residents of the closure prior to the day and would have been able to request that vehicles be moved if this was deemed necessary. Fylde Council had no involvement in this communication.’

It was reported by the USA Times Post that Lancashire Police declined to add after being approached because a PCSO officer was pictured posing next to the car.
