The future of Lytham St Anne’s Marks & Spencer is once again at risk as M&S HQ announced 950 jobs are to be cut. Marks and Spencer are already undergoing a process of cutting costs and closing stores and with the latest news, it is feared that the store located on Clifton Drive South could be the next to shut its doors.

A representative from the store has stated the move is an important step to becoming a ‘stronger, leaner’ business.

Sacha Berendji, director of retail, operations and property at M&S, said: “Through the crisis, we have seen how we can work faster and more flexibly by empowering store teams and it’s essential that we embed that way of working. Our priority now is to support all those affected through the consultation process and beyond.”
