On Thursday 10th September Fylde Police received a report of mopeds riding at high speeds through Lytham Town Centre.

Fylde Rural Task Force were out patrolling the area when they heard an ongoing pursuit with three bikes in Lea Gate, Preston heading towards Fylde.

The bikes managed to make off down a foot path leading down towards the canal.

The team made over and located three males in the nearby woodland who were detained for a search.

Police Dog Duke came to assist and followed the scent to a secreted area down by the canal where he located three abandoned bikes.

All three bikes were confirmed stolen and on false plates, with the registration plates being stolen from Lytham and Weeton.

Upon checking CCTV, it transpires these were the same bikes reported driving anti-socially in Lytham earlier that day.

Two 18-year-old males from Blackpool and a 15-year-old male from Preston were arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, dangerous driving and failing to stop for Police.
