HM Coastguards have issued a warning NOT to take coastal walks today due to the high tides. HM Coastguards said the following “NO PHOTOGRAPH IS WORTH RISKING YOUR LIFE FOR! If you see someone in danger,call 999 immediately & ask for the Coastguard.  Our officers are equipped with life jackets & life saving equipment. Let us take the risk.  Put the kettle on & relax. STAY SAFE, STAY AWAY!

Northern Rail have issued a further update since our previous article.

Update from Nothern – now asking people not to travel anywhere in the North West! Due to severe flooding on the railway, Northern is advising customers not to travel across the Northern Network, with the exception of certain routes in the North East. Storm Ciara – Sunday 9th February – There is significant disruption to services – Updated 13:00 Due to the strong winds and rain on Sunday (Storm Ciara), there is disruption and cancellations across the Northern network. As a result of severe flooding on the railway, Northern is advising customers not to travel across the Northern Network, with the exception of routes in the North East listed below: Bishop Auckland – Saltburn Carlisle – Newcastle (Speed restriction imposed) Newcastle – Nunthorpe via Durham Coast Newcastle – Morpeth The following routes are currently blocked (13:00) – Contact Information Mick Gudgeon
