The man who scaled the Big One, causing major disruptions along the Promenade on Monday, has been held in custody as he told the Police his next plan was to climb the Tower.  Homeless David Little, aged 49, said in a statement to the Police that he was planning to climb up the Tower as he was fed up of having no home.  In Blackpool Magistrates Court, Mr Little admitted causing a public nuisance.

Mr Little’s lawyer, Steven Duffy, said that his client had lived in Blackpool for twenty nine years and had been homeless for the last seven months, and was upset because he had only been offered a hostel in Preston. The Magistrates Court heard that by mounting the Big One, Mr Little had caused emergency service to attend, hindered the public and forced Pleasure Beach management to bring in specialist teams to check the white knuckle ride before it could be used again. District Judge Jane Goodall, sitting at Blackpool Magistrates Court, asked the Crown Prosecution Service to produce a full financial breakdown of the financial cost of Mr Little’s actions. Remanding Mr Little, she said, ‘If I was to bail you, there is a risk of reoffending and I have heard how you intend to climb another building.’ She warned Mr Little that she may send him to be sentenced at the Crown Court.
