New Fylde Mayor, Karen Henshaw, Officially Installed – Succeeding Cheryl Little

The New Fylde Mayor Karen Henshaw has taken up the role of first citizen of Fylde in a ceremony held Wednesday 8 May 2024.  The representative for Kilnhouse Ward was officially installed as successor to Councillor Cheryl Little at the Annual Meeting of the Council, held at Lowther Pavilion.

Councillor Henshaw declared her three chosen charities as Lytham St Anne’s RNLI, Homestart, and Friends of Clifton Hospital.

  • Mayor of Fylde: Councillor Karen Henshaw, Representative for Kilnhouse Ward
  • Mayor’s Consort: Mr Howard Henshaw
  • Deputy Mayor of Fylde: Councillor Joanne Gardner, Representative for Kilnhouse Ward
  • Deputy Mayor’s Consort: Mr Dan Gardner

The newly installed Mayor, Councillor Henshaw, has been a magistrate for 15 years, a School Governor for 10 years and a Councillor for 16 years.  Liberal Democrat, Karen devotes much of her time helping the community, enjoying her roles as Patron of Homestart Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre and Honorary President of Lytham Performing Arts Society. She is a member of Churches Together in St Anne’s, and with music being Karen’s main hobby, she still sings with the Wedgwood Singers. Previously she was an Executive Officer at Lytham Land Registry.
