New Modern, ‘Intriguing’ Ice Cream Kiosk For Fairhaven?

Following the highly successful £22m replacement Coastal Defence scheme at Fairhaven, Granny’s Bay and Church Scar, proposals to replace the Kiosk at the entrance to Fairhaven car park are now being considered.

Fylde Council, in partnership with the Dalmasso family are proposing to replace the existing ice cream kiosk at the entrance to Stanner Bank Car Park and replace it with a new, architect designed building with seating.

Taking inspiration from the natural environment, the £360,000 project will create a new building that is modern with the intention of creating a sense of intrigue, encouraging passing visitors to explore the building.

The material used for the design will create a strong statement and landmark within the area complementing the replacement coastal defence work.

The Dalmasso family have traded from this location for over 40 years and the proposed new building will enable them to expand their offer to the delight of current and future customers.

Chair of the Tourism and Leisure Committee Counccillor Michael Sayward said: ‘This will be the final finishing touch to the area and will bring so much more to the offering of the lake. It is an exciting development and we are looking forward to working with the Dalmasso family to redevelop and update the kiosk.’

Work is likely to start and complete in 2022. An artist’s impression of the new kiosk is shown in the featured image.  The existing kiosk is depicted below.
