Padel Comes to St Anne’s! New Hub to Mix Sport and Social Life
A brand-new sporting destination is set to arrive in St Anne’s, as Ace Padel, in partnership with AIM Capital, has secured planning approval from Fylde Borough Council to transform the former Howdens site on Scafell Road.
The exciting development will bring five state-of-the-art indoor padel courts to the area, alongside a stylish café and bar, a dedicated wellness სივრც, and a vibrant programme of coaching, social play, and community events.
Speaking about the project, an Ace Padel spokesperson highlighted why Lytham St Anne’s was the perfect fit: “With its long-standing reputation for quality recreation—from its renowned golf heritage to its active, year-round community—the area offers an ideal setting for a modern racket sport facility.”
The club is set to cater to players of all ages and abilities, with plans that go far beyond the court. From coaching programmes and competitive leagues to family sessions, school partnerships, charity initiatives and themed events, Ace Padel aims to become a true hub for the community.
Co-founder Jamie Reynolds said: “St Anne’s is a place that values quality, community and active living—and that’s exactly what we want this club to reflect. We’re creating a space people will feel proud to visit, whether they’re playing, socialising, or simply soaking up the atmosphere.”
Fellow co-founder Lewis Woolley added: “Our vision is to make this a standout destination for the Fylde Coast—not just for sport, but for social life too. With exceptional indoor courts and a welcoming, modern clubhouse, we’re building a space designed to bring people together all year round.”
Local enthusiasts have already added their voices saying, ‘“I’d definitely give it a go. It sounds like the kind of place you could play, grab a coffee and just relax” and “It’s exactly what St Anne’s been missing — somewhere you can keep active but also meet friends.”
Details of the official launch and opening tournament are expected to be announced soon.
In the meantime, Ace Padel is inviting local schools, businesses, charities and tourism partners to get in touch and explore opportunities to collaborate on what promises to be one of the area’s most exciting new ventures.
