There have been numerous complaints in the area on various social media groups in relation to local business Premier Taxis doing a leaflet drop in the area. Some residents stated that it was against rules of non-essential travel. After Lytham St Annes news heard of these complaints we contacted Premier Taxis and spoke to their Managing Director John Cutler who said the following
“I would say that firstly we do not post them ourselves, it is a separate business carrying out this work. However we checked with them a few days ago and they confirmed they were wearing gloves and taking all necessary precautions in the current climate.
We DO suspect a number of the complaints, if not all, are coming in from other taxi companies who may have chosen to close or operate a much reduced service.
Premier has decided to continue to offer a full 24 hour service to ensure nurses, care home workers, emergency service workers and all other key workers can get transport to and from their work.
We are also providing a service for all members of the public who may wish to go to the supermarket, pharmacy, visit elderly relatives or any other business still operating.
In addition we are providing a pickup service for take away food and any other deliveries required.
Our fares remain the lowest in the area with just a £2 start and our fleet is completely hybrid electric to keep emissions to a minimum.
Premier continues to offer a full 24 hour service, at a huge weekly loss to itself, and will continue to do so through this extraordinary period.
For the quickest possible service go to Google Play or the Apple Store and search for Premier Taxis, and download our app, it’s the blue square icon, and you will have over 160 vehicles at your disposal.”
Be assured Premier will not be deserting the people of St Annes or any others along the Fylde Coast.
