Lancashire County Council has announced that residents will be able to visit their recycling centres in their car without booking an appointment first from next Monday 6th July.
Vans and trailers carrying waste will be allowed from Friday 10th July, however they will have to book an appointment before visiting – and visits will be limited for each van and trailer to one per month. This booking system for vans and trailers will go live on 6th July.
You can check on the continuing important restrictions, and book an appointment if you need one, at www.lancashire.gov.uk/waste.
Here is a quick summary of some of the restrictions:
- Bring one type of waste per visit.
- Drive up to the particular skip you need. Carry your waste from your vehicle to the skip. Staff will not be able to help. Do not walk around the site.
- Do not bring construction and demolition waste, also known as inert waste, and plaster, plasterboard or asbestos. The usual permit system allowing people to bring limited amounts of this waste will not be operating.
- Do not visit if you have any symptoms of coronavirus or should be self-isolating.
