Revised Plans For The Redevelopment of JR Taylor’s In St. Anne’s Passed By Fylde Council

The revised plans for the redevelopment of the former JRTaylor’s building have been passed by Fylde Council’s Planning Committee and delegated to officers to complete. These proposals include the expansion of the spa facility and use the HSBC building as its main entrance.  In addition, the developer wants to swap out the previously consented four hotel suites in favour of a VIP bar.

Central to the redevelopment project is glazing work including the addition of glass cladding to the corner bay and glazed balconies, along with the replacement of ground floor glazing. Canopy alterations and timber treatments are also included.

Designed by Blackpool-based WBD Architectural Consultants, the revamp of the 20,000 sq ft department store which closed in 2015 (see featured photograph) also features plans for a rooftop bar and a restaurant.

A spokesperson for the St Anne’s Anne Enterprise Partnership (STEP): ‘STEP is excited to hear that the updated plans for the JR Taylor’s building have been passed by Fylde Borough Council. The ex-HSBC building will create and impressive entrance to this new business. Its facilities will encourage people to visit, stay and spend in the town. This space, in addition to the significant corner premise, will change the appearance of this part of St Anne’s, improving the area and increasing the prospect of future investment in the town.’
