Richard Still Missing Despite Extensive, Exhaustive Searches – Police Provide Update

Lancashire Police have shared more information and continued their appeal to find Richard Parker, two weeks after he was reported missing from Wrea Green.

62-year-old Richard (depicted in photograph) was last seen in the Brooklands area of the village around 2.20 p.m. on March 4.

Sadly, despite the exhaustive efforts of police and search teams, he has yet to be found.

Ch Insp Andy Ainsworth, of Lancashire Police, said: ‘Richard’s disappearance has led to a huge search operation, with our resources extensively covering both land-based and water-based areas.

We have conducted dozens of house-to-house enquiries and checked hours of CCTV to try and work out the route Richard took on the day he went missing.

It is believed he travelled on bike to the Warton area and this has been the main focus of our search, close to BAE Systems.

Our police search advisor-led teams have been conducting searches along the River Ribble, with the assistance of drones, the police helicopter, volunteers and partner agencies, including Mountain Rescue and the Coastguard.

We would like to place on record our thanks to members of the community who have assisted with providing information to help our search, as well as those who have shared our appeals on social media.

Officers are continuing to conduct enquiries to find Richard, and any reported sightings and information from the public is being followed up.

We remain very concerned for Richard’s welfare and we are continuing to support his family.’

At the time of his disappearance, Richard was wearing orange/red waterproofs and walking boots.

Richard is described as 6ft 1in tall, of slim build with short, grey and dark hair. He might walk with a slight limp.

Anyone with information can call 101 quoting log 1386 of March 4 or email forcecontrolroom@lancashire.police.uk. For immediate sightings call 999.
