Roadworks Roll In As Kilnhouse Lane Faces Summer Shutdown

Lytham St Anne’s drivers are being warned of a long-term road closure on Kilnhouse Lane as improvement works take place outside a new housing development.

A section of the road, between the junction with Melling’s Lane and the Queensway crossroads, will be closed to traffic from 15 June until 21 September, although the restrictions could be lifted earlier if the work is completed ahead of schedule.

The closure has been approved by Lancashire County Council to allow alterations to the highway outside the Richmond Point housing development.

Motorists will be diverted via Blackpool Road North, with a signed route reconnecting to Queensway.

The works are likely to affect journeys in and out of St Anne’s, as Queensway (B5621) is one of the main routes linking the town with Blackpool.

Residents will still be able to access their properties on foot throughout the duration of the works.
