Sculptor For Bobby Ball’s Bronze Statue In Lowther Gardens Chosen

Sculptor Ben Twiston-Davies has been chosen by representatives from Bobby Ball’s family to produce the bronze statue commemorating the life of the much-loved comedian, actor and TV personality. The statue will be located in Lowther Gardens close to the Lowther Pavilion Theatre, which was one of Bobby’s very favourite venues.

Fylde Council said the design of the bronze statue will portray Bobby based on his 40th birthday appearance and will be highlighted by the comedian’s trademark red braces. It will portray Bobby with a ‘twinkle in his eye’, one leg slightly forward and slightly pulling on his right brace with his right thumb.

Councillor Karen Buckley, Fylde Council Leader, said: ‘Bobby was a very special, incredibly talented and unique individual who was truly adopted by the locals of Lytham St Anne’s. His lasting legacy of kindness and joy means he will be sadly missed and this statue will ensure he can go on giving that joy to visitors and residents of the area long after Bobby took his final bow and left the stage.’

Ben Twiston-Davis is known as the sculptor who created the Agatha Christie memorial in London (pictured below).
