Weather:

Sizzling September Spell Next Week For Lytham St. Anne’s

Fall-out from Hurricane Ida is set to bring a hot week for Lytham St. Anne’s as weather forecasters say perceived temperatures are expected to climb to almost 30C on Tuesday 7th September (featured map) – before cooling off towards the end of the week when thunderstorms put a dampener on the sizzling spell.

Having devastated parts of the USA – Hurricane Ida is now changing the position and strength of the Jet Stream across the Atlantic and this will cause this noticeable rise in temperatures after weeks of cloudy skies caused by high pressure.

Craig Snell, Met Office meteorologist, warned: ‘The sun is still fairly strong so if you’re going to be in the sun for kind of a good length of time, wear a hat and some sun cream because even though it would be kind of past the peak of the summer, the sun can still burn you at this time of year.’
