Speed Limit To Be Reduced & Parking Banned On Clifton Drive North From Starr Gate To St Anne’s

The speed limit along Clifton Drive North from South Shore to St Anne’s will be cut from 40 m.p.h. to 30 m.p.h. –  and vehicles will be prohibited from parking along the road if plans submitted by Lancashire County Council (LCC) are approved.

The notice for these changes has been submitted by LCC under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and will affect the Clifton Drive North from Starr Gate to the Highbury Road West area.  The restriction on parking on the road will impact upon tourists, dog walkers and beach-goers who frequently park their cars along this road. The 40 m.p.h. speed limit was introduced back in 2010 – long before Persimmon Homes built a large housing development on the former Pontins site opposite the sand dunes.
