St. Anne’s Man Charged With Class A Drug Possession After Stolen BMW Pulled Over In Kirkham

Fylde Police have reported that three people were arrested and two have since been charged after a stolen car was pulled over in Kirkham yesterday afternoon (Tuesday, 22nd March).

A pair of eagle-eyed officers on patrol in Blackpool spotted a BMW 318D and felt something wasn’t quite right with it 👀 They signalled for it to pull over but it made off down Fleetwood Road, before travelling through Elswick, Inskip, Wharles and Treales.

A tactical stop was carried out on Carr Lane, Kirkham, at around 4 p.m.

The car and its occupants were searched and it was found the car had been stolen and was being driven on cloned number plates. Snap bags of a drug believed to be cocaine were also found.

A 42-year-old man from Preston was arrested on suspicion of failing to provide a breath test and disqualified driving. Anthony Hope, 42, of Barnfield, Preston, has since been charged with driving while disqualified and failing to provide a breath test. He was due to appear at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court this morning (Wednesday 22nd March).

Two men – aged 36 and from Blackpool and aged 30 and from St Anne’s – were arrested on suspicion of possession of class A drugs. Lee Freeman, 30, of Heeley Road, St Anne’s, has since been charged with possession of a class A drug. He is due to appear at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court on April 11th.

A 36-year-old man from Blackpool has been released under investigation.
