A grandmother who has lived 70 years in St Annes was treated to a birthday surprise from her family today. She turned 99 today!
It all happened at The Priory Court Nursing Home, 51 Clifton Drive where Irene Shawcross celebrated her 99th birthday. She was treated to a concert in the front garden.
Her daughter. Debbie Whiteside. told Lytham St Anne News “We are so lucky to still have her with us because 12 months ago she was critical in Victoria hospital and thanks to the wonderful staff at The Priory home she is in much better health again. Due to the Covid 19 virus we haven’t been able to go into the home to see her or give her a big hug on this special Birthday. My Daughter who is a professional singer called Kerry Rogers set up her mic and sang a concert for her Nanna and all the other residents in the front garden of the home, whilst the residents kept safe and watched from inside with all the windows wide open!”
She also added “Kerry performed great and I also managed to sing a duet! My mum had a great day under these strange times!”
