The Dragon Boats Return To Fairhaven Lake This Saturday!

This coming Saturday 18th May, promises to be a great day at Fairhaven Lake when the 2024 Dragon Boat Festival takes to the water.  This event is already sold out, so there will be lots of brilliant, fun action for spectators to enjoy. Eager, enthusiastic teams of 17 people will battle it out to be crowned the champion boat. But who will fall in the water? There will be a host of other brilliant attractions on to the shores of Fairhaven on offer on the day, including food vendors and stalls, to make this a perfect family occasion.

And if you wish to participate, entries are now open for 2025! So get ready to feel the adrenaline surge as the drums beat in sync with your heartbeat, propelling you and your team towards victory. Whether you’re a seasoned paddler or a newcomer eager to experience the thrill for the first time, you are invited to join in for an unforgettable adventure that will make your heart beat like a drum. The 2025 date for your diary is Saturday 17th May!

  • It’s up to 17 people in a boat, including 16 rowers and 1 drummer to keep you in time!
  • You can bring your own food or choose from one of our tasty vendors or the lakeside café.
  • Arrival is  from 8 a.m. with the first race setting sail at approximately 9.30 a.m. Each team will get at least 3 races.
  • The event is open to anyone over the age of 16 (the drummer must be over the age of 12).
  •  Registration to secure your boat is £425 per team ( £25pp ) and the minimum sponsorship is £850 ( £50 pp )
