The Lord Derby and The Taps Will Open On 12th April – And You Can Pre-book An Outdoor Table!

Two of Lytham St Anne’s favourite pubs, The Lord Derby and The Taps will reopen on Monday 12th April, Greene King have announced.  Unlike Wetherspoon venues, customers are encouraged to guarantee their  outdoor table by making an on-line reservation when bookings open on Friday 26th March to ensure they don’t miss out.

The Lord Derby, on St Anne’s Road West, and The Taps, on Henry Street, are just two of the 442 Greene King managed pubs that will reopen outdoors in England from Monday 12th April.  This is an important first step for these two pubs as they both aim for normal trading by June, under the government’s roadmap to lifting restrictions.

Further afield, The Air Balloon, on Squires Gate Lane, The Farmers Arms, on Lytham Road, and The Counting House will also be open on 12th April.

Whilst customers will able to book a ‘garden table’ on-line from Friday 26th  March, drinkers will also be able to visit the pub outdoors without an advance booking.

Greene King chief executive Nick Mackenzie said, ‘It’s great that we can finally open outdoor areas in some of our pubs after such a long period of lockdown and we can’t wait to start welcoming our customers back, safely. Sadly, we can only open around a third of our estate in April where we have outdoor space that will work and have a chance of being viable, but we know the vital role pubs play in communities and feel it’s important to open as many as we can to help people get back together once again.’

He continued, ‘We look forward to May when we can open many more of our pubs, and the all-important return to normality in June when the restrictions are fully removed, and we can start to rebuild our businesses. Until then, we all have our fingers crossed for sunshine and warm temperatures in April!’
