‘I went to Karen’s Diner and the waitress made the whole place yell “f*** off” at me’ was a headline in the Daily Star
And now, with its signature rude waiters and awful service Karen’s Diner is coming to Blackpool. Promising five star food, alongside one star service, its strapline is ‘We love good food & drink, but absolutely hate good service.’
‘Once you’re in a Karen’s you’ll not be thinking about strikes, Brexit or the cost of living, you’ll just be wanting to survive!’ said Ryan Blackburn, Managing Director of Karen’s Diner. ‘It’s place where you can complain until the cows come home because we literally don’t care.’
The diner with world-wide venues, prides itself on having the worst service in the world as part of its immersive experience. And Karen is heading to Blackpool on its mission to be rude to as many people as possible.
The pop-up Karen’s Diner will be located at Tiffany’s Hotel, on North Promenade, in the town between June 4 and July 16. Tickets are available now and are on sale between £20 and £44.40, and include a two course meal as well as bottomless drinks including lager, select spirits and mixers as well as select soft drinks for a full 90 minutes.
Speaking of the upcoming visit to Blackpool, Karen’s Diner said: ‘We’re coming to town on tour and well if y’all show up in force we’ll either come as a longer term pop up or simply just stay put for a while until we’ve insulted everyone in your city. At our pop-up Karen’s you will be greeted and waited upon by rude waiters who in return are expecting you to give it full Karen. A place where you can complain until the cows come home because we literally don’t care.
You can expect good food, good fun and a dining experience like you’ve never had before. Let us know if it’s your birthday, if your name is Karen and for the love of Karen don’t ask to speak to the manager……………’
In the late 80s, I was on a work trip to London. One night we ate at a Chinese restaurant in Soho, which was famous for exactly this. We LOVED it, and gave back more than we received! A great night.
