Cloud, rain and gusting winds are expected throughout the United Kingdom this weekend.  This coincides with the days when the much anticipated lockdown restrictions are eased – making outdoor areas, beer gardens and alfresco restaurant tables a rather uninviting prospect in Lytham St. Anne’s. This is evidenced on the VentuSky map above which shows a wind speed of 31 mph for Lytham St. Anne’s on Sunday.

Indeed, a weather warning has been issued for most of Northern England on Sunday, where gale force winds are predicted through the day until 4.00 pm. The Met Office said the gales are due to a deep area of low pressure crossing the country – and potential damage could be worsened due to trees being in full leaf.

However, after the winds, Monday and Tuesday are set to be cloudy but mostly dry with an increasing chance of sunshine and warmer temperatures as the week goes along. By Thursday, temperatures could reach 21C in Lytham St. Anne’s.  Is Summer on the way?
