Where to watch tomorrow night’s Blackpool Illuminations Switch On Show.

The 2020 Blackpool Illuminations Switch On Show will be streamed live tomorrow night (Friday 4th September) at 8.30 p.m. You can enjoy the hour long show – and join in the after show party at, and

This special, virtual extravaganza will feature performances by Melanie C, Becky Hill, Fleur East, Tom Grennan, Joel Corry, Rae Morris and Diversity.

The theme of the 2020 Illuminations is ‘Bring On The Light’, celebrating the unstinting work of the NHS, key workers and other individuals during the pandemic.
Seven ‘Covid Heroes’ will together turn on the lights. These include Dr Jason Cupitt, the consultant who led the COVID response at Blackpool Victoria Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit, working every day and most nights at the peak of the pandemic, spending only a few hours away from the hospital over several months. His constant presence provided encouragement and reassurance to staff and patients in the struggle against COVID-19. The Golden Mile will feature a display of hearts and rainbows and illuminated images of 48 ‘Corona Heroes’, chosen from hundreds of nominations from across the UK.

Here’s a few tips from visitblackpool to help your Switch-On party go with a swing:
Step 1: Ahead of the show, dig out your Christmas lights, decorate your room and be prepared to turn them on at the all-important Switch-On moment during the streamed event.
Step 2: Find the best seat in the house and make sure you are stocked up with food and drink of choice.
Step 3: Just before 8.30pm, settle back and tune into one of these channels to watch the show.
Step 4: Just after 9pm, get ready for your own personalised Switch-On moment. The more lights you have in the room, the better. If it makes your family say “It’s like Blackpool Illuminations in here!” you’ll know you’ve done a great job!
Step 5: Get on your feet and join Joel Corry for a 15-minute celebration under your lights.
Step 6: Sit down, draw breath and share your photographs at any of the channels below
