Fears of a local lockdown for Lytham St Anne’s residents have heightened after a public health officer has declared Preston could be closed within days.
The announcement came as local Coronavirus infections have surged. Cases in Lancashire have more than doubled this week compared to the 7 days period prior.
Lancashire county council’s director of Public Health, Dr Sakthi Karunanithi has told BBC Radio Lancashire: ‘Further updates on possible measures are expected on Thursday after a government meeting to discuss local authorities. We will get to know after that meeting if there are any restrictions that will be brought in or if any support will be given’
