Fylde Council has now fenced off  the area around our iconic Lytham Windmill.  Following the recent damage caused by the wind and many years of weathering in this most exposed area, the remaining two sails will be removed for inspection on Tuesday. Fylde Council say that they will keep residents updated and informed of the repairs.

There have been several suggestions about a way forward for the Windmill. Toto Sweeney Jackson suggested, ‘Turn this into a working windmill but generate electricity…. it would be great to see it moving and good for environmental.’ Nicolette Dickson said, ‘Should leave them down for winter !’
