Woman Leaning Over Wall Attacked By Dog In Blackpool

Blackpool Police are today (30th January 2023) appealing for information to identify this man and dog after a serious dog attack in the town. The attack happened three months ago on 1st November 2022 at around 11 p.m. The victim, a woman in her 40s, was stood outside an address in Lord Street and was leaning over a wall as a man walked past with a dog on a chain.

The dog jumped up, biting the woman’s face causing serious injury. She was taken to hospital and needed more than 70 stitches to help treat her injuries.

The man made off from the scene in the direction of Queen Street. He is described as in his 30s and was wearing black. The dog is described as a tan or brown coloured dog on a large chain.

However, whilst expressing deep sympathy for the woman, some are concerned that it has taken three months for the appeal to be shared by the Police. Chloe Hamilton said in response to the appeal, ‘So you’ve left it 3 months to publish it giving the dog time to attack others?’ Sharon Louth agreed, ‘That’s awful hope the lady is ok and you find the culprit, but 3 months after the incident is a long time to post.’
