Fylde’s Community Safety Partnership (CSP) is celebrating a year of strong results in its mission to reduce crime, protect vulnerable residents, and build safer neighbourhoods — while unveiling an ambitious new three-year strategy to tackle emerging challenges and strengthen local communities.
Throughout 2024–25, Fylde Council say they have worked closely with Lancashire County Council, Lancashire Constabulary, Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service, Public Health, and the Probation Service to deliver impactful, community-focused initiatives.
Key achievements include:
- Upgraded CCTV systems in Kirkham, Lytham, and St Annes, providing high-definition footage to support crime prevention and investigations.
- New multi-agency Risk Management Meetings to better coordinate responses to anti-social behaviour.
- Operation Centurion, a targeted initiative in St Annes, received strong support from local businesses for increasing safety and police visibility in the town centre.
Looking ahead, the CSP has developed a comprehensive new strategy for 2026–2028, informed by local feedback and focused on the issues that matter most to Fylde residents.
Strategic priorities include:
- Tackling serious organised crime and drug dealing
- Improving road safety across the borough
- Supporting victims of domestic abuse
- Reducing anti-social behaviour through enhanced Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) enforcement
- Addressing substance misuse through education and early intervention
The plan also outlines a proactive response to rising retail crime, beach and water safety concerns during peak tourism periods, and counter-terrorism preparedness in light of new national legislation, including Martyn’s Law.
Cllr Chris Dixon, Lead Member for Social Wellbeing and Chair of the Community Safety Partnership, commented:
“I’m incredibly proud of what our partnership has achieved this year. We’re not only responding to crime — we’re working proactively to prevent it, support those at risk, and create communities where people feel safe, supported, and proud to call home.”
Residents are reminded to report crime or anti-social behaviour by contacting Lancashire Constabulary on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
