Three Lancashire Police Officers were assaulted during this past challenging and demanding weekend whilst responding to lockdown-related incidents as the force responded to 517 suspected reported breaches of the current restrictions.
During this busy weekend for the Lancashire Police, a total of 181 people were handed fined for alleged breaches of lockdown restrictions between Friday morning (29.01.21) and midnight Sunday (31.01.21).
Deputy Chief Constable Terry Woods today tweeted, ‘Just reviewed weekends COVID incidents – one of the busiest we’ve had at 517 incidents. 181 Fines issued. 3 officers assaulted. Thanks again to the silent majority of the public doing their best. Thanks to my staff for their efforts protecting the NHS & public.’
