LSA HIgh School on LOCKDOWN!

Parents from Lytham St Annes High School have been sent a letter today stating the school was on an alleged trial lockdown which has caused confusion and concern however the attached picture with its blue lights flashing has been circulating students WhatsApp Groups along with eye-witness accounts of violence and not exactly fanciable tales. Another worried mother said about her daughter “I think there was a massive fight and they had to lockdown the school”

Dear parents and carers,

I am writing to let you know that we were able to trial the first part of our Lockdown procedures, for the first time as a whole site.  There was a situation in school that required a significant amount of thought, support and management. Out of respect for the two children involved, I can’t share more at this moment.

This then allowed us to communicate with all classrooms to ensure that students remained in their room with their teacher and that a message was shared.  As a large campus we have to keep reviewing our systems for this sort of situation and this is in contrast to our well rehearsed fire-evacuation plans, where these work brilliantly.

Somewhere between our trial and the end of the lesson, children have filled in the blanks with some fanciful stories.   Thankfully, I can confirm that the system worked, children were excellent, and lessons continued and that there was NO threat to any students and no escaped lions on site!

If you have any questions, please let me know.
