Lytham’s Round Table Celebrates Its 85th Anniversary

The Round Table, one of Lytham St Annes oldest charity organisations, has celebrated its 85th birthday with a cowboy bash.

There was a Wild West theme to the charter night anniversary which was organised by chairman Raz Shahid at Fylde Rugby Club.

Stetsons and jeans mixed with more formal dinner attire as gun-toting Tablers, past and present, enjoyed riding a bucking bronco and a meal of BBQ beef and beans.

The Round Table was originally founded by 30 like-minded men at a meeting held at the St Anne’s Hotel on 1938. Today the Lytham Tablers are known for fun and fundraising antics -in the summer gala season as the Red Barrows, their Firework spectacular every November and their annual Santa tour of Lytham St Anne’s streets in December. Over the decades many thousands of pounds have been donated to local charities.

Any men aged 18- 45 interested in Table activities and future social events can contact Raz on 07877 021365.
