Pedestrian & Motorcyclist Killed In Fatal Collision – Blackpool Police Request Information

Blackpool Police were called at shortly before 5.30 p.m. yesterday (Monday 6th February) following reports of a collision between an Aprilia Tuono motorcycle and a pedestrian on the A584 Queen’s Promenade at the junction with Norfolk Avenue.

The pedestrian, a man in his 40s from Blackpool, sadly died at the scene. The motorcycle rider, a man in his 50s from Thornton Cleveleys, sadly died from his injuries shortly after arrival at hospital.

Police now appealing for witnesses, CCTV and video footage. Anyone with information should contact 101 quoting log 0973 of February 6th.

Sgt Steve Hardman, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit at Lancashire Police, said: ‘This collision has very sadly resulted in the deaths of two people and my thoughts are with their families and friends at this time. I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision itself or who has any CCTV, dashcam or mobile footage, to get in touch with us as it may assist our investigation.’

As a result of yesterday’s fatal accident, Queen’s Promenade was shut for several hours between Cavendish Road and Duchess Drive while emergency services attended.
