St Anne’s Teaching Assistant Charged With Housing Benefit Fraud

A 27-year-olde Teaching Assistant from St. Anne’s has admitted cheating Fylde Council out of Housing Benefit over a three-year period. She also admitted defrauding the Department of Work and Pensions over Employment Support Allowance. The proceeds of her state benefits deception totalled almost £24,000.

Rebecca Fox of Lindsay Court, St. Anne’s has been bailed for three weeks by District Judge Richard Thompson sitting at Blackpool Magistrates Court. The Judge told Fox, ‘These are serious offences of fraud and the court needs to now more about you.’ This judgement gives time for Probation to prepare pre-sentence reports.
