Urgent Appeal For Parade Marshals At July’s St Anne’s Carnival!

This year’s popular and colourful St. Anne’s Carnival Parade will be held on Saturday 8th July, with the Parade staring at 10:30 a.m. And volunteers are urgently needed to assist in manning barriers along the Parade route to help maintain safety as this wonderful event unfolds.

Asking for assistance, a spokesperson for the Carnival Committee has said, ‘ Unfortunately, we’ve had a lot of the parade marshals pull out, due to holidays and prior engagements. These positions are crucial to maintain safety and order at certain points on the parade, as we have many local children and residents participating in such a wonderful event.

We are urgently appealing for volunteers to help us by manning a barrier along the parade route, to keep the route safe!

The job is not a difficult one – and not a long one. You will get a “front row” viewing of the parade also! Training will be provider in the morning of the carnival.

The time commitment is from 8:30 a.m.-12pm and as a thank you – you will receive a drink and snack from our stall in the gardens.

Without your help, we may have to change the route or have to stop the parade.

If you can give up this time, we would be very grateful! Please email stannescarnivalparade@gmail.com or message the Carnival FB page directly.’

A BIG thank you, as always, is extended to all the helpers who have enabled the event to be a jewel in the crown of St. Anne’s rich heritage and to all new helpers who are willing to join the friendly team.
