Disposable Barbeque Remnants At Scene Of Today’s Dune Fire

Further damage to our dune landscape and the protected habitats was caused today (Saturday 10th June)  as temperatures soared across Lytham St. Anne’s

A Fylde Council spokesperson has said, ‘It’s incredibly disappointing to see today’s damage.  Fylde Council’s officers, alongside Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service remind beach goers that BBQs and fires are not allowed anywhere along the coast. Not only do they pose a risk of harm to people, but these fires can also devastate the rare and protected habitats we are so lucky to have here in Fylde.’

The photograph below clearly shows the disposable barbeque at the scene of one of the dune fires.
