With 2020 seeing a unprecedented demand for laptops, Lancashire based business My Laptop Shop Ltd launches new low cost Intel Windows Laptop devices into UK market.
Established in 2014, the business is run by two ‘sisters in tech’ – Kim Lovatt & Francesca Guerin. For the past 6 years, the business has focused on refurbishing old laptops to supply schools in Ghana. The TAAS (Technology as a Service) bundle includes the hardware, software, warranty and finance package into a single rental that enables African students access equipment through schools they wouldn’t normally be able to purchase or fund otherwise. My Laptop Shop partner with Education Heads in Ghana as the technology partner in their initiative to give each student access to technology (One Laptop for Every Child).
It was always a dream to design and customise a brand new affordable laptop device, suitable for remote learning, home learning and basic computing, and in doing so ensuring supply to meet the demand overseas. These devices are a high end entry level device and occupy the gap between a Netbook/Chrome Book and a much more expensive Tier 1 OEM product, supported with a 2 year warranty.
At the start of lockdown, and with immediate demand in the UK for access to affordable laptop devices, the business concluded previous negotiations with a quality leading manufacturer to make personalised equipment, to our design and specification. Initial responses have been very strong and they are now available in the UK to purchase and for immediate dispatch. They are ideal for education, homeworking, small / medium business and consumer.
They offer a 14” & 15.6” model at £390 & £410 inc VAT with Intel, Windows 10 computing, without compromising on performance. A full HD screen, webcam, Wi-Fi, with eMMC 128GB Solid State drive, and 8GB DRR4 RAM ensure speed and performance. A Quad Core Celeron processor, energy efficient, HDMI, USB and 600 minutes battery life. Design wise, they are sleek, full metal casing and lightweight. Perfect for everyday computing needs.
